EQO Goes Artsy

Well, not exactly... What has Marketing here at EQO been up to for the last couple months? We’ve been making kick a** short films, that’s what – a quadrilogy, in fact. The finished products below promise to enthral viewers young and old alike.

The EQO Legacy Quadrilogy is in no sense of the word "adult" or "mature," so more sophisticated comedy, drama, action and fantasy lovers may be a little disappointed by what it offers. There are however some popular tried, tested and true themes: hot girls in bikinis, a hot guy, a caveman and a trampoline. There are no wizards or goblins, but there is a slightly odd (sorry, “artistic”) announcer guy who does a good job of developing the plots.

To humanize the characters, the films were shot right here in Vancouver on the scenic DTES, amidst an angry landlord demanding we pay him for the use of his badly unkempt backyard. There's not much of a moral here, though, unless one considers it a lesson that, when filming hot girls jumping on trampolines, one should avoid doing so during a 12 year old boys street hockey game, but I digress.

Still not sure what the films are about? They’re about learning how to get the most out of your mobile phone by using EQO, of course. Despite the fact we are all about the mobile social networking and VoIP, we too enjoy some sweet eye candy whilst slaving away (the caveman being an acquired taste, and was my boss’ idea).

Check out Part 1 below entitled, “Hot Girl Jumping on a Trampoline”

You can catch the riveting sequels to the EQO quadrilogy on YouTube at the links below. Feel free to leave favourable ratings and comments, pass them onto your friends or post them to your very own site!

EQO Soccer Moves Outdoors

bootAfter a solid undefeated season of indoor soccer at Sportstown BC, the EQO All-stars took their high octane, run-and-gun style of play outdoors. The opponents, UTStarcom (formally known as Telos), a strong squad of 20 men, came to Albert Airey Park looking to avenge a prior 5-1 embarrassing loss.

From the opening kick, you could tell that the squad from UTStarcom was determined to not be whitewashed a second time. Harsh tackles and strong words nearly led to fisticuffs more than once (watch the video and you’ll see what I mean!). However, cooler heads prevailed and when all was said and done, the match was declared a 2-2 draw.

1st Star: Colin Quon--Carved his way through defenders, helped to break up the brouhaha between Stan and a colorfully-mouthed defender, and scored the game tying goal off a beauty of a corner kick.

2nd Star: "King" Richard Chow--Stopped about 87 shots, half of them from point blank range.

3rd Star: Amar Kulkarni--This UBC coop sensation was a bull out there.

Honourable Mention: Kelly Ko--After hearing about the misogynous remarks of a member of the other team at half time, she put forth an inspired 2nd half of soccer.

New Features on Friendster

Friendster logoIt has been awhile since I last visited my Friendster account. Since Friendster profiles and pages were fairly static, there was not a real need for me to check back on my friends on a frequent basis. But much has changed on Friendster the last few months.

On Friendster, I can now customize my home pages, publish FLASH-based widgets, andYoutube logo insert YouTube videos similar to capabilities on myspace. Now there are more reasons for me to check back on my Friendster account more often. However, it is still a challenge to browse for friends and new members beyond looking at friends of friends. Also, the "grab this photo" feature on Friendster still perplexes me.
