Calling with EQO

All EQO calls are placed from the EQO Mobile application on your phone. EQO Mobile makes calls by placing a regular call on your mobile phone to an EQO local access number. If you are making a free call to an online EQO user, then you both call into a local EQO access number and meet in the middle, so to speak. When making a call to an offline EQO user or a non EQO contact you will call into the local access number and the party you are calling will receive a normal call. These types of calls are subject to EQO Out rates, which require EQO Credits:

Price Check for Calls

Dear EQO Team,i want to give you a lil feedback... :-) I've used your Application now for about 7 Weeks, and i really miss a feature in your Software.Hows about to give your Customers a straight Way to check their Rates from EQO for a Call individually?I hope you know what i mean, for example when i would try here from Germany to Call my Friend in USA over EQO so the Application would show me before the Call the correct Rates for it...that would be much better to check everytime the Rates on your Mobile Site... ;-) I wanted to say Thank You that you've lowered the Price for a SMS from Germany to Germany from 0,11 € to 0,075 €.Actually i pay from my Mobile Operator 0,09 € for a SMS to Germany so you are on a pretty good Way.Keep going on please! :-) And hows about a Delivery Report for SMS?That Feature is really important for me cause i've made my Experiences with another Application just like EQO,called Cellity...The Program is from a Company in Germany and i really can tell you: Its a Mess...I've send a SMS from Cellity to my Friend in Indonesia and they dont have a Delivery Report too...so whats happened? My SMS needed 6 hours (!) to arrive...that was the Reason for me to delete that Application directly from my Phone...but im pretty sure you can do it better... :-) Maybe you could think about my Feedback... :-) Greetings from Germany :-)

EQO Software Problems with Sony Ericsson K800i

Dear EQO Team,im a Big Fan of your Mobile Service and i really enjoy your nice Service every Day.But i've discovered a Problem with using the Software (Version 1.6.1) on my Sony Ericsson K800i that i've already reported to your Support by E-Mail,but i havent got a Answer from you since today...My Problem is this: When i start the EQO Software on my Phone, everything works well, the Login, the Connection, everything just fine. But when i use the Instant Messenger Service in your Software to Chat with my Friends, the Software gets really slow with just every Action after a few Minutes. That means i cant write my Messages in the usual Speed and have Big Problems to control the Software correctly...after shutting down the Application and restart it again, everything works well again but after a few Minutes the Problem is there again.I've tried many Ways to fix that Problem by myself,I've deleted the Software from my Phone completely and downloaded it again, but the Problem is still there...maybe you could fix that Problem with a new Software Update or something like this, its just a lil Bit sad for me,because this Problem forces me to use other Instant Messengers on my Phone which runs without Problems but i really would like to use YOUR Service...Greetings from Germany and keep up that great Work! :-)

Callback on EDGE/GPRS

Hi,

I'm having a problem trying to place a call in a callback country (Russia):

When I initiate a call on EQO it tries to call my number but since the EDGE/GPRS session is currently active the call goes to voicemail. However, EQO thinks the call is connected and proceeds with completing the other call.

Is this basically the behavior when I have voicemail setup? The call get diverted to my voicemail due to active data session before it can get through to my mobile.

How do I get around this?

Thanks!
Art

Call Quality

The call quality has been generally good. It seems like the other party hears me alright but for me their voices seem to cut out a lot. Especially when I talk while they are talking. There is also a slight echo from my voice but not as noticeable as their voices cutting out. I was wondering if I use another access number would this problem be fixed or is this something that the whole system suffers from? I am currently using the Montreal Access number.

Edit: I am using a Blackberry 8130

i recently just got an n95 8gb and i've enjoyed using this application versus other im programs out there, but eqo closes each time i switch apps such as checking texts messages or viewing content online even if my phone were to go on standby mode.

i was wondering if it were possible to keep the application connected even if i switched to another app? i saw a blog post about standby mode, i couldn't find any answer i could find to this problem.

let me know, thanks!

Hi all,

it appears that there is a limit of 500 contacts that can be imported in EQO, but whatever reason I can only import like 50 out of my 200 contacts. Since I already synchronize my contacts with Outlook, I import all their details on my mobile (mobile, landline, Email, Address...). I wonder if EQO doesn't consider each details as a contact entry. WOuld anybody have any idea how I could solve this?

My mobile is a Nokia XpressMusic 5310, and I have downloaded the lastest version of EQO for my mobile just yesterday.

Thanks a lot,

EQO 1.5.0 seems highly unstable

I've just recently updated eqo on my phone to the new version 1.5.0, and ever since i've been having several problems.

First of, every other time or so that i try to start Eqo, my screen turns white for approximately 5 seconds and i'm back to the main screen (eqo is now of course closed). If i try to restart Eqo it might fail again or it might succeed. Very unpredictable and unsatisfying, especially if you would like to be able to make quick calls during a short break (that's my typical use case).

Second of all, i find it strange that my success rate for connecting to the eqo network has gone down a lot since i upgraded to 1.5.0. This is not due to any changes in my whereabouts or general network coverage, and thus i jump to the conclusion that the connection procedure must have changed in some way that that isn't all good (at least in my case).

All in all i'm very happy about the eqo concept, but the problems that have emerged with this new version, has made me think twice before recommending Eqo to anybody.

Now i write this post because i would like to know if i'm the only one that experiences problems with the new version? I don't expect anyone to come up with an answer as to how i can improve the stability of Eqo on my phone (nokia 6300), but i think it is important to let the developers know of the issues that we experience.

Thanks Eqo folks, you're saving me a fortune!

Eqo doesnt work properly after first loading

Hi all! I am from Moscow, Russia, my mobile is Siemens ME75, i downloaded version for CX75 and run it. In first time it was perfect, i loged in my ICQ and made a test call, but when i tried to run it on the second time it loaded but didnt asked for password, after that it logged in program but didnt logged in icq and i couldnt call, just "Calling message" and no incoming call from EQO. After a few tries i deleted program from mobile and downloaded it again. And all has repeated, perfect on the first time and no work for others.
Else, i cant type "+" symbol in the number and i cant delete symbols because my softkey, which i usually use for deleting is used by program functions. Thanks for the reading it :)

How to use ICQ and MSN and Yahoo at the same time?

Hi.

I need to use Yahoo and MSN and ICQ at the same time, because I have a lot of friends around whole world. But I didn't search how I can do it. When I connected to ICQ I can't connect to other messenger's server, such as Yahoo or MSN. Is it possible? Or must I use one connection only at the same time?

Help me and explain, please!

Thank you!

International Roaming / Local Number

Hi

Can you please confirm if my understanding of how the service works in relation to incoming calls in the following situations? It seems like EQO would be good for saving money while travelling if I install a SIM for the country I am in but receiving calls to my normal number would involve roaming fees.

1) If I have my regular SIM in the phone and I am in my home-country and someone calls my number, the call is received on my phone and this does not involve EQO at all.

2) If I am travelling overseas and I have NOT activated Travel Mode and still have my home-country SIM card installed in my phone, callers to my home-country number will be forwarded to me without involving EQO and I will be paying my home-carriers international roaming fee. If I use EQO to make a call while overseas, I will be making a call back to the 'local' access number for EQO in my home-country and I will be paying my carrier's roaming fee for this call from my current location back to my home-location.

3) If I am travelling overseas and I have activated Travel Mode and inserted a SIM card for the country I am in, callers to my home-country number will not be received as the SIM for that number is not installed. Before leaving the home-country I could set up call forward for my home-country number to the number on the SIM card I am inserting while I am away but I would be paying international roaming fees for when my home-carrier forwards any call to my temporary international number.

Thanks

How to change location

I have installed eqo on several phones on our sales team. Now one of them returned to Norway from a travel in asia. His eqo-account was OK but he got an enormous bill from the mobile telephone company. Should he register in eqo what country he is calling from? He has probably called all the way to your Norwegian node from his location in some asian countries.

Best regards
Doesn't EQO support Swedish characters?!

Just installed EQO and everything seemed fine. I then wanted to send an SMS to a Swedish mobile and sent one to my own, including the Swedish letters Å, Ä and Ö. In the SMS I received these were replaced by loads of strange characters!

My EQO account is in English as I live in the UK and have a UK mobile too which is the one I use as long as I'm here. Many of my friends live in Sweden though and I want to send SMS to them using our own characters of course, there's usually no problems at all to do that. If that's not possible I won't be long on EQO... :(

Importing contacts

With the latest version of EQO my contacts are imported with the Company field inserted into nickname instead of the displayname (firstname and last name) ... So now I have 30 contacts with identical names (colleagues working in the same comany as I). How can I ever find who is who? Please fix this...!

Deleting EQO messages

I'm loving the program, but seem to just continue having problems with Eqo to Eqo texts. Some texts just cut off randomly in the middle so I can't read the rest. This started happening a couple weeks ago now, but it wasn't every text and I thought maybe it was a problem on my end. Now I keep getting a pop-up saying I have new texts, but must delete older ones in order to retrieve them. That's fine, but I cannot delete messages. I've tried over and over and they just stick around, even after restarting the application.

So far it's my only quip with the application, so that's saying a lot! :) I am bummed that Eqo to Eqo calls now cost, but I completely understand the need and the 50% price is more than generous!
