Would you like to test your unsupported phone with EQO?

There are minimum requirements for EQO--your phone needs to support Java applications (J2ME, MIDP 2.0 to be more precise), your phone needs to have a max .Jar Size of at least 220 KB, and you need to have full access to mobile data--but if you have a phone that is not on our supported list, and you think it should be, please let me know at support@eqo.com and I get you set up with a suitable file to test out on your phone. If you've tested out EQO on an unsupported phone before, please share your experiences here!

I'm interested in EQO but my new mobile phone is Samsung U700 ( non supported actually ).
I'm an italian customer, can I have a beta version or something similar?
I've tried other samsung versions but I can't login in EQO....
Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

Please try to use the Sony Ericsson J300 with your phone. Let me know what happens when you try it out.

EQO on the Skypephone

I am a Skypephone owner interested in using EQO.

The Skypephone is not on your list but i decided to test it anyway with different versions.

The program installs without problems, connects properly but gets stuck when it automatically imports contacts with the screen "Add contact?", pressing yes or no doesn't do anything.

Which version do you suggest I should try on my phone?

thanks

re: EQO on the Skypephone

Hi,

If you haven't tried the Sony Ericsson J300 yet, give it a try. It is a pretty generic build. Please let me know how it goes.

Skypephone test

I tried the j300 version, it seems to install and connects correctly but always gets stuck when automatically importing contacts, on the screen i read "Add a contact?" (or similar in english) and pressing yes or no or any other key doesn't do anything.
Only the "terminate" key works, and it shuts the program down.

re; Skypephone test

You could try a Nokia and a Samsung version...if those don't work, I think you might be out of luck. Although, since you can install and connect, I don't see why we couldn't build a version for your phone in the near future.

re: Samsung U700

What happens is that after entering the password, eqo comes up with the main window, without connecting (offline in the left top corner). the 3G icon in the bar showes to be red, what means the connection is open but no data are being transferred (otherwise there would be a radio like icon next). that means, eqo is not establishing a connection to the server.

eqo don't react on pressing one of the softkeys, the only way to continue the phone would be to kill the app. but, as soon as the 3G connection is being shut down (the icon becomes blue, what means that the data connection has been disconnected due to time out of no data sent in a while), eqo comes with the message, that the connection is being optimized and it might take a few minutes. but what to optimize if there is no connection?? meanwhile, the progress bar (displayed as five squares) are bouncing around.

but if you press OK in this phase, the squares stop bouncing, looks like to be dead. the only way out now is to kill eqo.

after all, i'm not able to use eqo, neither the recommended sony ericsson j300 version, nor the samsung u600 one.

hope this helps developing!

re: re: Samsung U700

That is strange. I assumed that the U700 would work with the U600 build, but it sounds like there is still hope. Your issues appear mostly related to connectivity and not the app itself. What country are you in and when did you try? We had a major outage last weekend and continue to have outages in Russia.

Skypephone

Hi, I got also the 3 Skypephone now. I can install all the version without problems and run them, but its all the time the 2 top keys that are asked for any action (yes / no, action / menu). those are not working. I had the same issue installing EQO on a blackberry 7130 where also the 2 top buttons are not recognized.

re: Skypephone

Hi,

Yeah, we haven't actually mapped out the keys for the Skypephone. There may be a similar key mapping in another one of our versions...the problem is I don't know which one is closest to the Skypephone. I would try a Nokia (like the 6500) or a Sony Ericsson (like the J300) version.

For your BlackBerry, what OS is it running? Have you tried pressing the Space key or the Alt key?

Samsung ZM60

It is a 3G phone, it can run Java programs, for example Opra Mini, so I expext it to run EQO as well. Can you recommend me a version to try?
My Mobile Service Provider is T-Mobile Hungary.
Thanks,
Petika

re: Samsung ZM60

Hi,

Any Samsung version would be good to try--or I always recommend the Sony Ericsson J300 version if in doubt.

If you do try it out and it doesn't work, let me know if you get any error messages.

re: Samsung SGH L-760

Thanks for the feedback. In the next few weeks, we will be releasing a different EQO client that just might work on your phone. Please come back and try again in about 3 weeks.
