Hey, Did you manage to get set up yet? Peter the issue only occurs usingSubmitted by xhozt on October 5, 2007 - 1:17pm.
the issue only occurs using umts/hsdpa to connect. if i foce my phone 2 use gsm/edge no issue...no other of my apps have this issue.. i bet eqo is notkeeping its port open "alive" properly... more questions just ask :) Not working in SwitzerlandSubmitted by dshapiro on October 5, 2007 - 1:26pm.
Just downloaded beta for my treo 750 running windows mobile 5. Cannot make any calls, it looks like the outgoing number is not a valid swiss number, it's trying to call +41 43 500 4128. I tried dialing +41 043 500 4128 but that's not a valid swiss number either; so not sure what number you need but the dialing setup is not quite right for switzerland and my carrier which is swisscom. Dave. re: not working in SwitzerlandSubmitted by peter on October 5, 2007 - 3:31pm.
Hi Dave, Please try again. I believe that the problem should be fixed now. Peter Working in SwitzerlandSubmitted by dshapiro on October 7, 2007 - 10:33am.
Peter, it seems to be working correctly now thanks. The only thing I can find so far is that the Options>Add to Home Screen, does not work "Unable to Add EQO to current Home Screen. Please contact EQO support with this issue". Also, I really like the way it imported my phone contacts (which are synched via Outlook to my Outlook contacts on my exchange server). I'm assuming that once they are imported they are not updated if I make changes to the contacts on the phone. That would be a really cool feature to have if not. Also if you can add a feature to append a +1 (or whatever country code) if it is missing in the contact number field. Dave. My thoughtsSubmitted by jaustin on October 8, 2007 - 7:16am.
Okay here are my thoughts.... Lets start with the bad. The good I think it will be a great program just have a couple questions 1. If I remove contacts from the program like phone numbers, will that remove them from my phone? My $.02Submitted by shackk on October 8, 2007 - 9:39pm.
Well I will start with the good: -Quick load time -Screen resolution not an issue (using Treo 700wx) -instant messaging is very responsive without a noticeable lag time And now the not so good: -installation on a storage card seems to run smoothly, but upon soft resetting the device an error message sometimes occurs upon start up -program does not automatically log back on upon completion of a phone call. (incoming our outgoing) have to manually check the status, especially if not running the today screen plug in -today screen plug in, while nice seems to take up a bit too much real estate on the screen. could have been a couple px smaller but then again i am a treo user so others may not have the same problem. -new message notifications do not always work After all of that it is a very good program that is not a memory hog and does what it is supposed to do. I think it would be nice to have some more power of the overall view of the program by changing fonts, background colors, etc. Im sure I will add more after further use. re: cant log in?Submitted by flipfone on October 8, 2007 - 10:20pm.
logged in and set all looks well so far, except the problems you already know about. nice job guys!! EXIT problem and IM contacts listSubmitted by cadmium48 on October 9, 2007 - 6:02am.
Hello Nice sofware, Looks good seems to work well, I have ONE problem tho! HOW DO I QUIT THE PROGRAM, please dont laugh im being serious none of the quit/exit options seem to work on my V3r. I currently have to press my red button to quit the task. How do I sort my IM contactlist I would like to be able to sort it by name or online status so people that are online are at the top of the list and I would also like to be able to give aliases to some of my contacts that come up showing there email address instead of a name. re: my thoughtsSubmitted by peter on October 9, 2007 - 9:10am.
Hi jaustin, Thanks for your comments! Let me answer your questions for you... I did have a question for you. Which device are you using? the font size should be scaled properly to your screen resolution...I would like to see how it looks on your device--could you send me a screenshot to peter@eqo.com? Peter re: My $.02Submitted by peter on October 9, 2007 - 9:40am.
Hi shackk, I haven't tried installing EQO on a storage card (but I can't think of a reason why this should produce and error)...I'll try to reproduce this and see what is going on. The program should automatically log back on after a phone call...having said that, I have experienced myself what you are seeing. It may have to do with the delay. Try waiting for a minute (I know that is way too long) and see what happens. As for the today screen, I think that it might be a Treo specific issue as you indicate--it looks fine on my i-mate. We do have a Treo here that I can have a look at. Let me know if you notice a pattern with the missing new message notifications. Thanks for the feedback--keep it coming! Peter re: Exit problem and IM contacts listSubmitted by peter on October 9, 2007 - 9:51am.
Hi cadmium48, Right now, the best way to manage your IM contacts is though your settings. Start EQO, then select Options, then select Settings, then check "Hide Offline IM Contacts". This is the best that we can do for contact management at this time. I think that we should be displaying nickname, but we are currently showing the IM name that your friends have given themselves. I will see if I can get this changed... Now, to quit EQO, select Options, and then select Exit. And remember, there are no dumb questions because if you have the question, chances are, someone else will have it too! Cheers, Peter Peter, I am using the i930Submitted by jaustin on October 9, 2007 - 10:11am.
Peter, I am using the i930 on Nextel/Sprint Service. I can send you a screen shot in a couple of min. from the phone. It will come as an SMS message or maybe from my email?? Not sure which way will send best. I will subject it as SSi930. Also a new problem I am having is error 0010 I reconnect and then in about 3-5-10 min I get kicked off again. Thanks, re: Peter, I am using the i930Submitted by peter on October 9, 2007 - 4:03pm.
Thanks for the screenshot Jesse. I do have to admit that the font looks a little small on your phone and that it might be hard too read for people with poor vision--however, I think that the decision to scale to that size was based on the trade off of allowing more text on the screen (for more contacts and chat history). Maybe we can make font size an editable option--there have been other requests for user control over colour scheme/skins. This might fall under that category. Are your connection errors persistent? I have done some more testing today and it seems that the connection problem that you and a few others have been having may be limited to a few devices...so far, I have had intermittent connection issues on a few Smartphones (running 2003 or 5). I would be interested to hear if anyone on a PPC has had these connection issues. Peter RE: EXIT problem and CALL COSTS.Submitted by cadmium48 on October 9, 2007 - 5:27pm.
Hi there again,, My phones are Motorola V3r I have one and my wife has one. EXIT PROBLEM:- CALL COSTS:- You give us £1.50 complimentary credit. After the 4 min call I had £0.80 pence left THATS £0.30 pence a minute so my 4 minutes cost £1.20 and heres the real slapper when I checked my ORANGE balance it had also chewed up exactly the same £1.20 so my test 4 minute call actualy cost me a STAGGERING £2.40.. £0.60 pence a minute.. WOW, I have double checked this and I can say without ANY doubt that this is SO. WOULD you please enlighten us all why this is COSTING so much We were under the impression that EQO to EQO would be cheaper, if not FREE. I am most definatly not paying for call out credit at these Prices. RE: EXIT problem and CALL COSTS.Submitted by peter on October 9, 2007 - 6:28pm.
Hello, EQO is primarily intended to serve as an international mobile calling solution--not a national or local one. It sounds as if you were calling from the UK to the UK. Because our calling service leverages a local call (to our local access number) for a long distance one, there is no way that our service could help you to save money on in-country phone calls. Peter clarificationSubmitted by shackk on October 10, 2007 - 6:46am.
Peter I should clarify first that there is nothing wrong with the today plug in, it is a very nice option. I was just stating that it is a little wide and takes up more room than I thought it would on the Treo screen that it is all. Since the Treo is 240x240 real estate is hard to come by on the device. But nothing technically wrong with the plug. As for the storage card issues I uninstalled Eqo and reinstalled to the device and I still am having the same connection problems. First once signed on to the program I can minimize eqo and check the status from the today screen plug in. However once the phone goes into sleep mode (ie: screen shuts off) is where the problem begins. Upon waking the device the eqo plug still shows the status being online and will continue to show eqo being online until actually clicking on the plug in and going into the eqo program. Once in the program, the status is still shown as online for about 60-90 secs. Only then does an error message pop up (error 0010) stating Connection Error, reconnect or use offline mode. This same issue also occurs when the program is not minimized and the phone goes into sleep mode. It also should be noted that while the device is in sleep mode messages cannot be received even though the program shows that it is online. Messages will also show being sent however they are not received until a manual reconnection is made. Hope that explains the issue I am having. This happens both when eqo is installed on the device and on the storage card. Also, unrelated to the above, does this program only have audible alerts without a vibrate option? With my phone in vibrate mode, there is no alert notification unless you are looking at the screen. Thanks for your help Seems to let me reconnectSubmitted by jaustin on October 10, 2007 - 7:07am.
Seems to let me reconnect for a min and then it kicks me back off again with the same 0010 error message. SettingsSubmitted by jaustin on October 10, 2007 - 12:22pm.
When I go into options from Instant messaging and then click settings the program seems to lock up and either restart the phone or close out and take me to main menu of my phone. will not exit properly hereSubmitted by xhozt on October 10, 2007 - 2:17pm.
will not exit properly here .. the program minimizes but is still listed in the task manager and can not be relaunched without rebooting the phone .. and im geting more and more connection errors.. re: clarificationSubmitted by peter on October 10, 2007 - 4:12pm.
Shawn, I get what you mean now...the squareness of the Treo is squishing the today plug-in on your screen so that it takes up too much space in your opinion. I'm not trying dispute what you are seeing, but on my Treo, the plug in takes up no more space than the other items on the today screen--if this isn't the case on your Palm, I'd like to see a screenshot so I can see what you are seeing for myself! We are working on fixing those connection issues. Hopefully we can get a more stable client for the next release. Also, no, we do not have vibrating alerts--but it is a feature that I think that we should incorporate. Cheers, Peter Peter, Thanks for the followSubmitted by shackk on October 10, 2007 - 6:51pm.
Peter, Thanks for the follow up. As for the screen plug in, I have actually changed my layout around and it looks much better. Really it was not an issue of the look, just my own pet peeve of taking up space on the homescreen. :) Another program I use has just a little thinner of a plug in and I think I was used to it. As for the connection issues, yes right now that is the biggest flaw imo with the program. Once fixed along with some of the other potential minor suggestions I believe you will have a long awaited hit with the WM crowd. Until then I will continue to test away. As always if you need help don't hesitate to shoot me an email. -Shawn 0010 errorSubmitted by novoco on October 23, 2007 - 12:00am.
I also experience the 0010 error thing repeatedly, on a Treo 700wx. I have not noticed a pattern as I have only installed EQO tonight, but I will post any patterns that I notice. The install was easy, the look is great, and easy to login and add contacts. I love the smilies :):):) I made a couple test calls from Interior BC to Vancouver, and they went great. I'll probably try calling to Australia sometime. If there are problems with that I'll let you know. Disconnect from one account only?Submitted by novoco on October 23, 2007 - 12:14am.
Is it possible to disconnect from one account only? I have an msn and a gtalk account. I sometimes connect to msn to check if anybody is active, but if not I'd like to disconnect from msn only, leaving gtalk connected still. If so, how??? 0011 errorSubmitted by novoco on October 23, 2007 - 11:38am.
I just got a 0011 error when trying to connect to EQO. It says "EQO could not connect, check www.EQO.com/help to get connected. 0011" This happened when I disconnected EQO, then reconnected right away, all from the Today screen. It connected right away when I clicked connect again. re: 0011 errorSubmitted by peter on October 23, 2007 - 12:27pm.
Thanks for your comments on the Beta. We are still trying to iron out the connection issues with our Windows Mobile client. hopefully we will be able to get a fix out for later this week--I will let you know. For your IM question, you can sign out of each single account on its own by highlighting that account, selecting Actions, and then Set Status to Offline. Thanks again!
