Delete AllSubmitted by sznaimer on May 31, 2007 - 3:17pm.
When I initially imported my 2500 Blackberry contacts, I only succeeded in sucking in about 500 of them. later, after you updated some of your software I managed to import my address book again. But now I have a mountain of duplicates & deleting them 1 at a time is a pain. Is there a wa y for me to "delete all" so i can start fresh ? Is there a way to selectively import from my BB contacts, so i can add some new names as I go? samz re: delete allSubmitted by peter on May 31, 2007 - 5:00pm.
hi samz, Warning, manual deletion may lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...just kidding. Currently there is no way to delete all of your contacts (neither on the web, nor on your BlackBerry). Selective import is also not a feature of our application as of yet. You can add contacts one by one from your account page on the website...though if you had a lot of contacts this would be a test of your patience. The good news is that both of these feature requests have been discussed by our Product Management department and, I am told, are going to be ready with our next maintenance update. Peter Clarification on usageSubmitted by dgarff on June 29, 2007 - 2:17pm.
Greetings EQO team, We are US cingular users with unlimited Blackberry Data packages. I wanted to clarify a couple of things to make sure I understand the usage clearly... Does my physical location for making calls factor in to pricing for a call? For example, if I were in Mexico I could call the US for 2.3 cents per minute. The only thing that would show on my bill is my minutes decreasing. Do I have that correct? Are there other issues I'm not aware of? Another point of clarification...If I'm in Mexico and call another EQO user in Switzerland, I understand that there will be no charges, except for the decrease in minutes available on my phone plan. Thanks for taking the time to respond. DG re: clarification on usageSubmitted by peter on June 29, 2007 - 2:51pm.
Hi DG, We do not have international roaming capabilities for EQO accounts. EQO accounts are only intended to be used from the country where the user got their phone/phone number. We realize how advantageous it would be to have roaming capabilities with EQO which is why we're working hard to make this a possibility in the future. In the meantime, if you want to use EQO while you are traveling, you could purchase a new SIM card for that country and sign up for another EQO account with that phone number. This option might save you money depending on how many calls you are going to make. EQO text messaging and IM (instant messaging) may still be useful to you while you are abroad since these services only use data. Let me know if you have any other questions about EQO Mobile. Cheers, Peter two requestsSubmitted by dcougle on August 15, 2007 - 2:23pm.
The new eqo is very good. However, how do I turn off vibrations for chat mode, and is it possible to turn off the prompt when you try to close a chat? Also, is it possible to customize the home screen to where it ONLY shows chat and not the telephone or messaging things? re: two requestsSubmitted by peter on August 15, 2007 - 4:02pm.
Thanks for the compliment! It turns out that you can only turn the vibrations off if you turn the Audio Alerts on. So you basically have to choose; either the audio or the vibrations. Peter IM list incomplete.Submitted by palangmead on October 2, 2007 - 3:36am.
Downloaded it. (please add a direct download button on the first page for those of us who know what we're doing! Downloads via phone cost mone... it's free to my computer) Installed it. Only to find that the best IM client is not supported. Sorry guys, but it's useless without skype! Deleted it. P re: IM list incompleteSubmitted by peter on October 2, 2007 - 8:45am.
I totally agree with you on your first point, the direct download button is kinda buried right now. I am working on getting that pushed to the first page! Support for Skype again probably isn't in the works. Since we have our own calling network now, we decided to move on without them. i am from China ,i have updated my eqo software on my mobile(sony ericsson P1i) because i saw the news that they can connect to QQ ACCOUNT,but when i add the qq account on my exsiting eqo moblile it can never login in,with the message"unable to login",i wonder why and how to solve this problem???? re: why i can never succedd to connect to my QQ accountSubmitted by peter on January 3, 2008 - 10:12am.
We are still investigating this problem right now. Lots of QQ users (myself included) are having no problems logging in to their QQ accounts with EQO, but there are still a few that are having problems. Do you know if your QQ account has any configurable settings that might be causing this problem? Could you ask one of your friends who has a QQ account to try their account on your EQO account? When did you create your QQ account? Also, please be extra careful when you are entering your password. Perhaps you are mistyping it on your phone? Peter Why no QQ IM to select in IM services?Submitted by knownwatt on January 3, 2008 - 9:05pm.

We are adding QQ to our Windows Mobile client in the coming weeks. It will be added in the next EQO Windows Mobile release. Peter re: why I can never succeed to connect to my QQ accountSubmitted by peter on January 4, 2008 - 10:10am.
Hi Eveline, We are stilling hoping to find a solution for this problem. Do you have any friends that could sign in to their QQ accounts on EQO on YOUR phone? I would like to see if we can find the difference between the accounts that are working and those that aren't. Peter re: why I can never succeed to connect to my QQ accountSubmitted by eveline on January 6, 2008 - 8:27am.
To Peter I have tried different QQ account with my eqo mobile, still failure, but the newest registered QQ acount one has succeeded. That means the QQ account which registered for a long time can not be access? Eveline linksSubmitted by hurra on January 7, 2008 - 1:25pm.
I cannot mark, copy, save or click on links that were sent to me (in ICQ). And THAT's a problem. Can you fix this? I mean, people send links via ICQ all the time. I'm probably not the only one having this problem. re: linksSubmitted by peter on January 7, 2008 - 4:00pm.
I'm sorry, but I can't fix this today. However, clickable links within IM are coming soon to EQO. We agree with you that this is a good idea, we just need to develop and add this feature in. Peter re: why I can never succeed to connect to my QQ accountSubmitted by peter on January 7, 2008 - 4:02pm.
Eveline, We are still trying to diagnose and correct this problem. It would appear that some older QQ accounts are failing to log in with EQO. I am told that there is a fix in the works for the IM protocol that we use that will solve this within the next few weeks. Peter i have the same problem, my QQ can not log inSubmitted by seefree on January 10, 2008 - 12:39am.
I've found in feedback that many people have this problem. Is that means EQO in fact can not get access to QQ? or that's only a bug in tech? Any settings I should change in order to log in? Waiting Sincerely for the reply. Type of connectionSubmitted by charles373 on January 10, 2008 - 2:22am.
Hi there, i am confused, as i thought this was a VOIP client for the Blackberry, yet when i call it initiates a standard call from the device. Where is the VOIP? is that at your end for low cost routing? can you encode the voice on the device and send over the blackberry's data connection? ta very much Charles (uk/blackberry 8800/t-mobile) re: Type of ConnectionSubmitted by peter on January 10, 2008 - 4:17pm.
Hi Charles, You got it--the VoIP magic takes place on our end during the routing of your call. In the future, I think that true VoIP on your BlackBerry will be a reality. Peter Phone CallsSubmitted by magicman2905 on February 4, 2008 - 7:28pm.
Good Software. It's quite simple and uncomplicated to use, good job! I'm using an ASUS PPC with Windows Wobile 5 and I noticed the same thing as Charles, but was quite suprised when it happenned. Perhaps you could fix up the section on how it works to tell us what happens when we make a call through Eqo. Stuart. P.S. Thanks for fixing up my account. Nice App, call quality needs improvementSubmitted by contactmathur on February 5, 2008 - 10:03am.
Hi, first of all, i would like to say that i love EQO. i threw away my calling cards, which were such a pain, as i either had to remember numbers i had to call, or store them online and associate them with a number on my phone, which was not really a good option. However, one thing, that could improve is the call quality. I am in the United states, and i face a long delay in the voice transmission, so it is difficult to have a normal conversation. Would really appreciate if you can improve call quality. Thanks, ThanksSubmitted by chris on February 5, 2008 - 3:08pm.
Thanks guys, your kind words are quite encouraging to us and we really appreciate them. We are working on updating our how it works section to better explain how EQO really works. You can also check out Peter's forum post for the real deal. http://community.eqo.com/forum/the_straight_goods_on_eqo We are working on improving call quality all the time. That our number one priority here. Also, just to let you know, we recently released J2ME and Blackberry updates. We also have much improves Windows Mobile and Symbian versions coming out next week. hi RE: we still like it till it be back to be freeSubmitted by chris on February 19, 2008 - 11:35am.
Thank you for your kind words. We realize that removing free EQO to EQO calls is upsetting and it wasn't something we wanted to do. In order to expand our network and grow we had to take steps that resulted in large costs to us. To remain a viable business we had to charge a discount rate for EQO to EQO calls. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to make EQO to EQO calls free again in the future. Chris I have a couple of questions:Submitted by blackthorny on April 4, 2008 - 10:38am.
1. What is the 'travel mode' in settings? RE: I have a couple of questions:Submitted by chris on April 4, 2008 - 10:48am.
1. Travel mode effectively lets you change your mobile number. I wasn't sure if you had that yet, not in all version of EQO. Cheers, Chris |
