Very expensive EQO to EQO

Hi,

I live in Denmark and my girlfriend live in Germany.

I have Sonofon as my carrier and she has blau.de (prepaid card)

Yesterday she checked her account, it said €14.xx

I called her with EQO to EQO (free afaik) for about 15 minutes. She then rechecked the account and it had dropped to €2.xx

How is that even possible since I called her? And did it cost me the same amount? (unfortunately I can't check because I do not have a prepaid card)

Sincerely,
Brian

re: very expensive EQO to EQO

Hi Brian,

An EQO to EQO call involves both phones dialing local phone numbers. EQO charges you nothing for this type of call. Your carrier will charge you 15 minutes of local air time to our number in Denmark. Your girlfriend's carrier will charge her 15 minutes of air time to our number in Germany. Do you know how much her prepaid card cost per minute for calls within Germany? I can't imagine that this would equal 14 euros. Also, how much is she charged for mobile data? EQO use mobile internet data that, while quite small, can be charged at exorbitant rates by prepaid cards. Do you knwo her rate for that as well? Let's try to see if that explains the the 12 euro charge.

Cheers,

Hi Peter and thank you for

Hi Peter and thank you for your response. According to blau.de the rates are:

0.15 € per minute for all german numbers, I guess that means for both mobile calls and your local number

0.24 € per megabyte GPRS (counted in 10 kb blocks)

Also we kept an eye on the datacounters and as you also points out, it is miniscule...

re: Hi Peter and thank you

By my calculations that would mean your call would cost your girlfriend about a total of 2.50 €. That means that she is out about 9.50 €. Did she make any other calls that could have affected her balance? Did she download anything? Does blau.de charge any hidden fees?

Cheers,

Peter
