SMS

I have been testing SMS feature and it works fine, but I have a question, I have read that voice features has limitation. I’ll be in Cuba for a while, so VoIP using GPRS is not possible and using WI FI is a nightmare because the bandwidth, so I have only SMS in my mind. SMS works great, but not for all countries or carriers. I have sent SMS to Cuba, and never arrive. I have sent to Canada, and about the same. It works fine to UK, and Italy. My question is: is there a list of available destinations in order not to lose credit unsuccessfully? EQO only says “message sent”, but we don’t know what really happened, not a confirmation issue or something like that.
Thanks in advance and congratulation for the great job you are doing.

RE: SMS

We'll have someone look into your SMS non delivery issue with Cuba. Often we are only told by our SMS providers that message was "delivered to gateway". We'll check with them and make sense of what happened. Would it be okay if one of our support team members did some tests with you? We'll reimburse any EQO credits you might lose and then some.

RE: SMS

Thanks for your interest in EQO!
That sounds strange. All those countries that you mentioned are supported for SMS as well as calling service.
Now that you are going to be in Cuba, it would be great if you could help us to do a SMS test to figure out the problem. We will send you 8 test SMS messages to your number. Then, you can report back to us which of the SMS messages arrived on your phone.
Please email us and let us know if you can help: support@eqo.com

Again not delivering SMS in Cuba

I am back in Cuba from London. I was about 2 months without using the service since I left London. Tonight I sent an SMS to a friend with a Cuban line and he never got the message.
Then I sent a nudged to a friend of mine with London T-mobile mobile line, in roaming here, and he never got the message.
In both case I was charged, and for my surprised, nudged is a paid service now.
Thanks in advance

Jorge

Hi Jorge,

I will have to look in to this issue of the message not being received for you. However, "Nudges" do now cost the same as a regular SMS.
