1. why "eqo" searching for acces point 10 times, before going to online? 2. EVERY TIME,when I send message, "eqo" need (again!) acces point. Is there any way that "eqo" remember my choice FIRS TIME??? Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/602

Are you using wifi or GPRS/3G? You can get rid of all but two of these messages by going into the application manager on your phone and changing the network access settings for EQO Mobile to "ask first time only". Does this work for you? Chris Nokia E61Submitted by kumarcvn on October 6, 2006 - 8:25am.
Where can I find the application manager there is no app manager for eqo on my device. Thanks! RE: Nokia E61Submitted by chris on October 6, 2006 - 8:36am.
This is the phone's application manager, nothing EQO Mobile specific. I'm not sure where it is on this particular phone, but on most Nokia's it's called App Manager or Manager and is located either in the main menu or in a folder one level down from the main menu, often called "Tools". I'm sure you'll be able to find it quickly if you take a look. Once inside the manager, select EQO Mobile and choose "Options"->"Settings" to edit the "Network Access" settings. It is set to "Ask first time only." Thanks! Nokia E61Submitted by kumarcvn on October 6, 2006 - 8:48am.
I feel the software on E61 is still bugy! I cannot navigate easily when i start EQO and freezes from time to time also have connectivity problem was not able to successfully login even once. RE: Nokia E61Submitted by chris on October 6, 2006 - 9:07am.
I have heard from a few others that EQO Mobile is a bit buggy on the E61, still waiting for some complete bug reports. Would you care to provide a detailed bug report? It would be much appreciated. In any case, we are in the process of acquiring an E61 to address the problem firsthand. Chris Nokia E61Submitted by kumarcvn on October 6, 2006 - 9:46am.
Ok here you go 1. Connectivity problms - Keeps asking for a access point I think thats all for now. Thanks! RE: Nokia E61Submitted by chris on October 6, 2006 - 9:59am.
Thank you very much for your report. I'll pass this on to the mobile developers and see what we can do. I'll have to get back to you later, thank you for your patience. Chris Nokia E60Submitted by jager on October 6, 2006 - 12:25pm.
The same as kumarcvn described happens on E60 too. RE: Nokia E60Submitted by chris on October 6, 2006 - 12:35pm.
It seems like these problems are evident in the E60, E61, and E62. The E70 has less problems and the E50 is fine. We are going to get an E6X and resolve this as soon as we can. Chris e61 wifi and skype problemsSubmitted by erickho on October 19, 2006 - 12:52pm.
hello, perhaps this will be addressed soon, but i have noticed two issues. 1) can't access eqo via wifi. works ok gprs. wifi connection is ok b/c i can use other programs/browse web. 2) can't access skype; have d/led the eqo/skype client. any ideas? RE: e61 wifi and skype problemsSubmitted by chris on October 20, 2006 - 9:31am.
Your wifi connection may be blocking port 8585, which EQO Mobile uses to communicate with our servers. As for the access point prompts, this is something we are working on fixing. I'm not sure about Skype, it may be that your router or firewall is blocking this access too. I'm not in the office today, wrecked my ankle and can't drive. I'll check out server logs regarding your situation on Monday. Let me know if you make any progress. Thanks. Chris i solved this problemSubmitted by roccotolve on October 21, 2006 - 5:30am.
i solved this problem (freezing, phone slowing down in menu navigation) installing the apps on phone's main memory.. as for the other problems, i patiently wait. RE: i solved this problemSubmitted by chris on October 23, 2006 - 9:11am.
Excellent observation, it is indeed always better to install EQO Mobile in phone memory than on the memory card. It seems there is nothing we can do on the E61 to make those access point prompts go away but open up a connection and leave it open. This will waste data and power, but is the only thing we can do for the E61. We must complain to Nokia about their E Series firmware! Chris Authorization failureSubmitted by evolved.r on October 26, 2006 - 10:26am.
No matter if I download it from the website (www.eqo.com/a) or the SMS that was originally sent, each time it attempts to install after successfully downloading the app it gives me an "Authorization failure". I have the Nokia E62. Should I attempt to use the E61 version? RE: Authorization failureSubmitted by chris on October 26, 2006 - 10:46am.
Please try going to "Tools"->"App Manager"->"Options"->"Settings" and change "Software Installation" to "All" instead of "Signed only". If this isn't the problem, let me know. If this doesn't work then please email me, chris@eqo.com, we'll sort this out. Chris Email sentSubmitted by evolved.r on October 27, 2006 - 9:40am.

Hi there, any idea? Wolf. RE: E61 no login in ICQ with GPRSSubmitted by chris on November 7, 2006 - 10:55am.
It appears as though we had a bit of a hiccup with one of our servers not processing IM related events last night for a few hours. Our developers feel as though they've fixed the problem. Please let me know if the problem continues. Chris Re: i solved this problemSubmitted by psavigny on November 29, 2006 - 7:26am.
After having read other E61 users' comments, I have found out that choosing the same WLAN access point twice will get me in, and everything seems to work fine from there. I have also installed EQO mobile in phone memory now. Let me know if you have found further solutions for the E61. Peter Re: Re: i solved this problemSubmitted by chris on November 29, 2006 - 9:56am.
Okay, so you can connect to EQO just fine now? Is that what I'm hearing? Yes, the Nokia E61 will prompt you twice for the access point and you must select it twice. Let me know if you have any other problem I can help you with. Chris Thank you so muchSubmitted by gizmologic on January 18, 2007 - 8:07am.
Thank you so much Chris, EQO Customer Evangelist. Now My Nokia E61 can switch from "Signed only" to "All" in App Manager. Makes my life a lot easier. (I fixed it with the link you gave earlier) RE: Thank you so muchSubmitted by chris on January 18, 2007 - 8:51am.

Hello Alessandro, Thank you kindly for the feedback. We will be releasing an update for your Nokia E61 next week. I have been playing with it and it is much improved. I'm sure you will like it, so please check back with us later next week when the update is released and let me know what you think. Chris RE: questions about using the softwareSubmitted by chris on May 14, 2007 - 9:13am.
Hello Jacques, If you are using a wifi connection with your E61 then you will need to unblock some ports, specifically port 8585. Can you please explain what you see when you can't connect to your IM accounts, any error messages? Just to let you know, we will be releasing a major update next week that will fix your problems. Please check back with us. Chris My E61 and EQO review and problemsSubmitted by cgsolano on January 9, 2008 - 9:39am.
Hey, I downloaded and installed the latest version for E61. I think I might also be current on my firmware, but anyway. I like the app. It doesn't really make my phone sluggish or asks me for connection every line like everybody else. I can use it with no problems on both GPRS and WiFi. But not everything is happiness... 1. Sounds are completely disabled (notifications, press-key, etc). Even if I check the sounds/notifications/alerts box on settings, it does not respond to that. 2. I tried using the WiFi mode and when left in standby, no calls could be received at all. So, seems like when WiFi is enabled, regular cell calling is disabled. I think it is not the case with GPRS. It might be the port thing you mentioned before (8585?). I think that is that for now. Comments? |
