My results of testing EQO on WM6 (HTC Tytn 2) and WM5 (HTC 9100)

For the record. I love your program. Nice and simpel and good looks. My comment is just to help you making things better. Signing in on the EQO site: Installing EQO: Using EQO: Every time I start EQO I have to import my contacts again. After I close EQO I loose all my contacts in EQO (exept for the online EQO contacts). This occurs on both phones. Windows mobile 6. In the EQO contacts my wife is shown with a green bubble. When i choose to call her i can choose from Call Mobile, Call Work and Call Home, "EQO call" is not displayed as an option. When i choose for example "Call Mobile", It looks like my wife is called by the phone application (not VOIP) not by EQO. When i close the phone application EQO is trying to call the contact but doesn't succeed. Windows mobile 5. In the EQO contacts of my wife, I see myself with a green bubble. When i choose to call myself i can choose from " EQO Out" and "Direct call". When i choose "EQO Out", It looks like my wife is calling me with the phone application (not VOIP) not by EQO. In my wife's phone there was no working SIM inside so you can't call mobile with it. WM5 gives a message that there can't be any calls because there is nog signal. When i close the phone application EQO is trying to call the contact but doesn't succeed. I did succeed in calling a none EQO contact with EQO on my Tytn 2 (connected by Wifi). There was € 0,02 of my EQO account. But i realy think that this call was also made by my mobile phone application. So I think my mobile provider will charge me as well for the call. I hope my comment will help you to improve EQO. Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/1104

Thanks for the detailed comments on your experience with EQO! Signing in: I have tried to reproduce this on IE 7 and Firefox 2.0, but I can't. What browser are you using? Installing: Both of your phones are Pocket PCs, but you signed up and installed the Smartphone version. The home screen add on should work if you install the Pocket PC version. Using: this import behavior is strange. I assume that you didn't add any contacts in between sign ons and that you didn't interrupt the import. As for the calling. This is how EQO works. EQO is not a true VoIP service. When you make a call with EQO, the application will dial our local access number. Then we will carry the call over the internet over our VoIP network. So, your phone will be using a local call--this is beneficial for calling internationally. Please keep the comments coming! Peter |
