MS Smartphone support
Submitted by ke4qpf on May 23, 2007 - 12:41pm.
When will the Windows Mobile version of EQO be released? I thought the new non-JVM version would have been released with the relaunch of the website. Is there something we can be told of this? Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/861

We are working on the Windows Mobile Smartphone and PocketPC versions of EQO Mobile now. We had our hopes, but they weren't ready for launch. I would guess that we'll be releasing in the next month or so. We appreciate your patience. Chris RE: MS Smartphone supportSubmitted by mikkitobi on July 9, 2007 - 5:13am.
Any news on when the MS smartphone client will be available?? We are now mid-July and no sign.... any beta-testers required? ;-) re: MS Smartphone supportSubmitted by peter on July 9, 2007 - 2:21pm.
Hi, I am eager to start using EQO on my Smartphone too! Trust me, it does really exist, it just isn't finished yet. Send me an email (peter@eqo.com) with your phone model and your WinMo OS and I'll add you to my list of potential testers. Peter MS Smartphone supportSubmitted by hegyre on August 19, 2007 - 3:20am.
Hi, I'm actually using the Samsung E900 JAVA version for my samsung SGH-i600 smartphone which is powered by windows mobile 6 It works great with the IBM J9 Emulator, but only in wifi mode, so i propose to you to be a beta tester of the windows mobile version for SGH-i600 phone RE: MS Smartphone supportSubmitted by chris on August 20, 2007 - 8:37am.
Hello Sir, I'm glad you managed to use the Samsung E900 version of EQO Mobile on your Windows Mobile Samsung device. Many Windows Mobile phones can run the J2ME version of EQO Mobile with great, but it really depends on the JVM you have. I've asked Peter to add you to the list of beta testers for Windows Mobile. In the meantime, please sign up to be notified when your device is officially supported: http://www.eqo.com/subprov/not_supported.php?page=phone Chris By the way, the EQO soft isSubmitted by hegyre on September 12, 2007 - 9:31am.
By the way, the EQO soft is only working with the IBM J9, not the JBED from esmertec, witch is more powerful than J9 betas out let the gamesSubmitted by xhozt on October 4, 2007 - 6:24pm.

It's LG's first WM phone running WM6. We downloaded the version for Samsung blackjack since it's also a WM phone but we have intermittent connection problems. It works via Wi-Fi but through GPRS/3G/HSDPA is mostly miss and few hits. We'd like to get our hands on even a beta version if possible. Thanks. RE: LG KS20Submitted by chris on March 20, 2008 - 10:17am.
Ah, that is the wrong version for your phone! Please remove EQO from your phone and change your model type to "Windows Mobile" and select "PocketPC" as your device. You can download the correct version by visiting get.eqo.com on your mobile browser. Please let me know if you continue to have problems. Chris LG KS20Submitted by stanfordlaw on March 20, 2008 - 10:07pm.
ok, downloaded the Windows Mobile Pocket PC version directly on the phone's browser and installed. We can connect via WiFi but when using GPRS/UTMS/HSDPA, it says: Sign in failed. Forgot password? Go to www.eqo.com and click "Forgot your password?". There's no connection error message at all. But we use the same username and password and connected via WiFi no problem. Also able to login thru website no problem. We checked Windows Live Messenger that came with the phone, web browser and Fring that we had installed and all connected no problem using HSDPA. We tested with both Use TCP checked and unchecked w/ same result. Any ideas? LG KS20Submitted by stanfordlaw on March 20, 2008 - 10:10pm.
We don't mind being a beta test for this LG phone if possible. Just really want to get eqo to work :) RE: LG KS20Submitted by chris on March 24, 2008 - 2:56pm.
Thank you for offering to beta test on your LG. However, there are only two Windows Mobile versions of EQO for Windows Mobile PocketPC and Smartphone phones. What I do need beta testers for is LG phones that can run Java apps. I suppose I should have been more specific. In any case, you should have the right version of EQO and I'm not sure why your HSDPA connection isn't working. What happens when you try that connection first, enter in your login details, and try again? Another thought, does your password have numbers or weird characters in it? Chris RE: LG KS20Submitted by stanfordlaw on April 5, 2008 - 3:38pm.
sorry for the long delay. i don't think there's an option that I can connect first then login. The password is alphanumeric only, no other weird characters. Still work only on wi-fi even after we download directly from the phone. I'm not sure if the KS20 can run java apps, but we are willing to test it if possible. is there a newer version for wm6? 1.2.0? re: LG KS20Submitted by peter on April 7, 2008 - 8:55am.
I believe that Chris wanted you to try connecting to the internet first--start IE on your phone, then minimize it after it has connected, then launch EQO. Have you tried this? Try this first, then we can try the Java version. The latest version we have for Windows Mobile is 1.2.0. Peter LG KS20Submitted by stanfordlaw on April 20, 2008 - 1:47am.
OK, just tested and failed to connect. EQO is now automatically searching for connection. It connected via wi-fi but we choose change connection and picked our carrier's data connection instead of wi-fi and it says connect failed and went back to wi-fi. However, IE, MSN messenger and Yahoo Go! works on the carrier's data connection settings. Any more ideas? or do we try the java version? Thanks, re: LG KS20Submitted by peter on April 21, 2008 - 9:48am.
I am interested to hear which internet settings you are using for your carrier. If you could check your APN, username, and password for me that would be great. Also, it would never hurt to try to Java version also. Peter Sorry for the lateSubmitted by stanfordlaw on May 16, 2008 - 6:15pm.
Sorry for the late reply: APN: smartone-vodaphone there's no username or password. This is setup by smartone-vodaphone store in Hong Kong. Thanks, re: sorry for the lateSubmitted by peter on May 21, 2008 - 4:05pm.
Try using the APN: internet, and leave the password and username blank. Peter LG KS20 updateSubmitted by stanfordlaw on June 6, 2008 - 11:57pm.
OK....there apparently was a problem w/ the phone's software as there were other problems. Took it back for service and they updated the phone's software. Now it will auto detect the Internet settings from the carrier. We are able to login to eqo after establishing HSDPA connection first, ie, open IE w/ a website first then start up EQO. Log in was successful and we double-checked to make sure the wifi was not active. However, we were able to do this the first time we install eqo on the phone. Will update if successful logins are successful or not. Thanks. re: LG KS20 updateSubmitted by peter on June 9, 2008 - 3:05pm.
Thanks for the update. Please keep me posted on your progress! Peter |
