EQO for the Sony Ericsson S700, S710, and V800 mobile phones has been released as of today. Please keep the phone requests coming! Chris Samsung T509Submitted by comm_archive on July 10, 2006 - 12:42pm.
Hi- I was eager to try and see if EQO would work in one of its current forms on a Samsung. I am happy to report that the profile for the Nokia 3230 fits perfectly on the screen of the Samsung T509, and the soft buttons work perfectly as well. however, the application cannot connect to the internet. :-( I realize that this is a potentially difficult thing to code, but I hope you are coming up with a solution soon. Thanks for working on this app! This comment written by glchen RE: Samsung T509Submitted by chris on July 10, 2006 - 12:55pm.
Thanks for giving it a try. It's possible that your phone does work with EQO still. What exact error were you getting? What network are you using this phone? If it's T-Mobile, then you must have their full internet package for EQO to work. T-Zones is not good enough. Chris Samsung T509Submitted by comm_archive on July 11, 2006 - 3:03am.
Ah. EQO was not able to connect to the network, either on startup or after prompting. But yes, I'm on Tmobile using the T-Zones plan (I believe; is that the $5.99 plan?). Perhaps that's the reason that I was unable to connect. Well, unfortunately, I'm not planning on upgrading to the more expensive contract anytime soon. So I guess I won't be able to comment on the possibility that it does actually work with the Nokia profile. Are you planning on adding support so that it *will* work with the T-Zones plan in the future? Thanks. This comment written by glchen RE: Samsung T509Submitted by chris on July 11, 2006 - 7:37am.
The fact that you do not have full internet access on your phone is definitely a barrier that would prevent EQO from working properly on your phone. This means that there is a good chance that EQO would work on your Samsung T509 unchanged. The problem with T-Mobile is that they do not allow you to buy a few MB's or subscribe to a lesser plan. It's unlimited or nothing with them. The T-Zones portal is heavily guarded and not TCP connection friendly. We hope to develop an EQO solution that will work with T-Zones. Thanks again for trying EQO on your phone. Chris |
