Submitted by chris on May 22, 2007 - 8:29pm.
EQO provides free text messaging in the form of EQO Messages between online EQO Users; replies to EQO Messages are also free. EQO Mobile lets you send SMS text messages to offline EQO users and to regular mobile phones. EQO charges a nominal EQO Credit fee for each SMS text message sent, check out our current rates below. Check current EQO Out rates here. Please let us know if you have any other questions pertaining to using EQO, just post in this forum! Dialing with EQo to "local" numberSubmitted by vdm on November 6, 2007 - 10:35am.
Hello, I am a new user of EQO and I have a question regarding one small feature with EQO. When I am making EQO to EQO call, I get connected to a local number. The question is if its FOC (free of charge call) or I need to pay for it anyway and to whom (I assume to my phone company or? Thanks a lot Vlad re: dialing EQO to "local" numberSubmitted by peter on November 6, 2007 - 2:18pm.
Hi Vlad, Thanks for the question. This call is a normal call to a normal number (not FOC) via your mobile phone. You will pay your mobile carrier for this call based on your agreement with them. Peter About EQO local accessSubmitted by janu-0 on February 27, 2008 - 2:37pm.
Hi.. I cant connect call from eqo using eqo. And why do i have to call on local access number first? It charges me local call rate. I wanna use eqo to call to other eqo user but i cant.. Cant i call them directly using eqo? I mean without using local access and without paying local charge to mobile operator.. Do something so i can do eqo to eqo call without using local access number cause its bit costly in uk. Ill be thankful for you if you give any solution for this problem. I really like yr eqo message service. Give me a chance to use yr call service if its possible without using local access. Please.. We have to route your calls through a local access number to route the international portion over the internet, hopefully saving you money. That is the whole point of EQO, using a different network than that of your mobile service provider for long distance. I appreciate the feedback, but we can't change our calling mechanism now. Sorry. Hi, I've been using EQO for a coupe of months now. Light use, but I think it's the best all-in-one client out there for Blackberry. How do I use EQO to send SMS to non-EQO users? I have not been able to figure this out. I go to the Messages tab (envelope) but I when I press the menu button on my BB Pearl, I oly see the Otions menu (Go Online, Settings, Exit) menu. No menuor other options for composing an SMS or sending it to someone. Handset: Blackerry Pearl 8100 (AT&T) Thanks. re: SMS Messaging with EQO MobileSubmitted by peter on April 30, 2008 - 3:42pm.
Hi, Certainly the intuitive place to send messages is from the Messages tab. However, with EQO, you actually have to send messages from the phone book tab. Find your contact's name (if it is not there, then you can add it), select it and then select send message. Since they are not an EQO friend, your only option will be an SMS (not an EQO message). It turns out the Messages tab is really a viewer for messages. You can view and reply to EQO messages there, but you can't initiate messages. I think we did this because we didn't want to duplicate the contact list there. Peter Problem with codepage in ICQSubmitted by leechdraw on May 21, 2008 - 12:23am.
Hi! re: Problem with codepage in ICQSubmitted by peter on May 22, 2008 - 3:41pm.
Hi, EQO only supports UTF encoded characters. I assume that your friends are using some type of Cyrillic encoding on their phones/PCs. When they messages to you, we are decoding them as if they were in unicode--that is why you see strange signs instead of letters. Right now, the only work around is for your friends to send you messages that are UTF-8 encoded. This is not the greatest workaround in the world, I know. I will talk to product management to see if we are going to make any changes on this. Also...do you know what type of encoding your phone supports? hello, i start to use symbian version(still annoying that it changes my contacts from phone book, but it work much faster and stable then java). so, i have tried to send regular sms to contact, but my ballance was not touched. i have tried 3 or 4 times - no result. then i choosed another person and try, sms was delivered same as my ballance was changed. first contact has 3 phone number and contact which get my sms only one mobile. i think its bug or corect me if i wrong. i think you need to add feature for messaging EQO2mobile like when make the outgoing call, have option to choose number where to send message before write it. re: SMS and contact with more then 1 phone numberSubmitted by peter on July 29, 2008 - 4:31pm.
By default we always attempt to send the SMS to the number that is stored in our mobile number field. I'll see if this is a bug or a feature enhancement... Peter |
