Make paying easier
Submitted by ob4icu on June 12, 2008 - 7:30am.
I like your service. However, I use it for business and I can't take the risk of running out of credits in the middle of a call. I try to add more credit to my account, but it makes me wait until it's almost empty before I can (manually) add more credits. Can you please provide a way to either pay monthly (post-pay, subscription, etc.) or to auto top-up? You'd get more of my business if I wasn't afraid of having my call cut off due to using up my credits mid-call. Thanks. Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/1385

Hi ob4icu - thanks for the feedback. We are working on some new payment options, one of them will be to trigger a top up from your mobile. Unfortunately, no plans for post-pay in the foreseeable future. Eric Thanks for the reply.Submitted by ob4icu on June 12, 2008 - 9:01am.
Thanks for the reply. Triggering a top up from the mobile is a good idea, but it doesn't solve the problem I describe. How can I top up while in the middle of a call? What if the credits run out in the middle of my call? You might consider adding an option to auto top up when credit balance reaches a minimum level. I am completely befuddled by this issue of being unable to add money, my present balance is below $10 and I still can't add money, yet from time to time I make calls to expensive countries, so it is very easy to run through $10, so I think you should at the very least make that lower threshold higher, like $15 or $20. I can see you won't want people to put in unlimited money, but this way of handling it creates a problem that makes your service less user friendly. Hi ob4icu, That's an interesting idea, we'll definitely revisit the concept once we've launch basic mobile payment options. By the way, thanks for being such an active participant in our forums. Your posts always make the rounds in the office and spur many discussions. Keep them coming, Geoff Hi vliscony, Believe it orSubmitted by gled on June 13, 2008 - 12:30pm.
Hi vliscony, Believe it or not, we're really trying to make it easier to give us money :). The minimum balance threshold is in place to deal with fraud (which unfortunately is a reality). The exact amount gets revisited from time to time and we've doubled it since our initial launch...but perhaps its time to review it once again. Keep the feedback coming...it keeps us on our toes, Geoff Thanks for the reply Geoff.Submitted by ob4icu on June 17, 2008 - 4:59am.
Thanks for the reply Geoff. Auto top-up should solve the problems the other customer (above) is befuddled by as well. I'm sure many EQO customers would love to see it implemented, and you'll probably find it leads to more use and more revenue for EQO. What about paying by SMS? For example, You could make: Re: paying by sms?Submitted by gled on July 16, 2008 - 10:35am.
We've been looking into payments by premium SMS. The downside of this payment option however is the fee charged by the mobile carriers...it amounts to about 40% of the transaction value so there would be a significant premium to pay by SMS (e.g. pay $14 to get $10). I'd like to get a user's perspective on this...would the convenience of being able to pay from your phone outweigh the additional charges? Geoff re2: paying by sms?Submitted by dimassss_88 on July 16, 2008 - 11:45am.
I understand You, but about 40% it is big! very big for small paying! Not of all users can pay $30 and more by SMS, because it is phone and not many people contain such sums on phones. And if i shall pay it is less than 30 dollars, I shall lose more on percent. paying by smsSubmitted by pitexboy on July 18, 2008 - 5:29pm.
