K750i hangs on "Connecting to EQO Service..."

Hello there! Thanks for your fantastic EQO... which I would love to see working on my K750i! What I've done so far: -installed EQO on windows desktop, no problem. When mouse over EQO icon, message says "Offline (Mobile not connected)". This is normal if I refer to the installation procedures. I have Zone Alarm Firewall that opens all traffic for EQO. I connect to Internet through a Netgear router, all incoming traffic open. Skype is up and running. -installed EQO on K750i. Went through all stages as explained. Checked my GPRS settings, all OK. For info, my provider is O2 UK. Now, when I launch EQO on my mobile, it hangs after I enter my password. I see an ornage screen, with "Options" button in bottom left hand side corner, EQO logo on top, GPRS little globe in top right corner, and message saying "Connecting...". Nothing else happens. Thanks for your help. Dom.

RE: K750i hangs on "Connecting to EQO Service..."

If your EQO ID is the same as your EQO Community ID, then the server logs show that you've recently been able to login to EQO on your mobile just fine. Is this the case? If so, would you mind telling me how you managed to get it going?

RE: K750i hangs on "Connecting to EQO Service..."

Yes, I was able to login!
I have first opened ports 80, 443, 7575, 7576, 8575, and 8576 as suggested in the forum. But still no success.
I've then decided to try EQO on my Palm TX over a wifi connection. And that worked perfectly!!
That tells me that my earlier problem is very likely to be caused by the K750, but I don't understand why.

Regarding the Palm TX, I've followed the instructions found in the Forum regarding the installation for a Treo, first installing the IBM JVM, then the Palm Treo EQO application. The application running on the Palm sometimes needs the stylus, some other times the buttons. But that is a minor problem. All my buddies added to the EQO buddy list are listed on the Palm EQO once I'm logged in, Instant Messaging works fine, and when calling a contact, my mobile phone rings me. Excellent stuff!

Do you have any idea why my K750 does not connect?

I believe the problem is likely with the internet connection. If you are completely sure that you have GPRS then make sure that your default internet connection is using this GPRS connection. You connection also might be dropping packets and/or timing out. From my experience, O2 is notoriously bad when it comes to maintaining a UDP connection. Please confirm that EQO is using GPRS, ask me if you need help, and try again on the K750.
