Installs, but no functionality
Submitted by lonestarraiser on December 31, 2007 - 8:35am.
I install on a Samsung I730 running Windows Mobile 5. The install goes through just fine, and i've tried installing it to either a media card and directly to memory to make sure. What happens is that everything seems to install fine, I get a blank today plugin (blank as in nothing in it at all) and if i try to run EQO, it shows EQO in the title screen for a few seconds while the windows loading icon shows, then it goes back to the today screen. Checking the memory setup, it does not show EQO running at all, so it seems to be crashing on startup. Any ideas? Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/1164

I am not sure what is happening here. Have you tried installing and then not installing the home screen plug in? The plug in might not be meshing well with your home screen set up. Then start the application from within applications. Let me know how that goes. Peter I'm not sure I know what youSubmitted by lonestarraiser on January 1, 2008 - 6:10pm.
I'm not sure I know what you mean... there's only the one cab file, and by default the plugin item is there on the home screen, i don't get the option not to install it. Although I did try running the app from applications, it sounds like you want me to try unchecking the plugin from my today setup and then try running it. let me try that... nope, same thing... after unchecking the plugin from today setup and going to the programs screen, it says EQO in the title bar and the windows loading icon comes up, and then just goes back to the applications screen. EDIT: I also proceeded to remove all the other today checks as well, to make sure its not another one conflicting it, no go. I work for a computer desk that supports mobile devices including Windows Mobile devices, and we're all stumped. We have installed it on our simulators, and it shows the proper plugin and runs properly there, so the file's not corrupt or anything. Maybe our versions will help you? The simulators (that are working) are OS version 5.1.195 (Build 14847.2.0.0), running an ARM920T emulator. The device (which isn't working) is OS version 5.1.195 (build 14928.2.2.0) running an ARM920T PXA27x processor. Let me know if any of this helps. DOUBLE EDIT: I just wiped my entire device back to a brand spanking new installation, and installed EQO as the very first thing, and the same issue results. It simply must not be compatible with my device in some way. Let me know what you think. re:I'm not sureSubmitted by peter on January 2, 2008 - 5:21pm.
How did you install the application? Via SMS, http://get.eqo.com, or with ActiveSync? Peter actually, all of them plusSubmitted by lonestarraiser on January 2, 2008 - 6:48pm.
actually, all of them plus one. I got the SMS and clicked the link, and that didn't work. I went directly to the site, and that didn't work. I installed via ActiveSync, and that didn't work. And I also put the CAB file directly on a media card, transferred it to the device, and installed it from there, and that didn't work. re: actually, all of them plusSubmitted by peter on January 3, 2008 - 1:39pm.
Something on your phone is evidently incompatible with this version of EQO...I have no clue what it is though. I don't have a similar phone to test this out on and I can't replicate it on my emulator or on any of the devices that I have here. If you would like to try an older version of EQO on your device to see if that will work, send me an email at peter@eqo.com and I'll get you another file to try. Either that or wait until we have a new release. Peter |
