Installing EQO on i607 blackjack: already have ibm jvm
Submitted by hadrury on July 15, 2007 - 11:39am.
Hi, I've been trying for some time to get a VOIP application running on either the Treo 650 or my (newer) i607 Blackjack. I have read the posts on this forum and it appears it's possible even though the blackjack is not currently listed as a "supported" phone. I have successfully installed the IBM JVM (v9) and can run the Google Maps application using it. My question is: when i visit the get.eqo.com site, it asks me which model of phone and the i607 is not listed. I have tried several options but I keep getting the message: E"rror: the file cannot be viewed on the device". What am i doing wrong? Thanks for any help! heather Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/934

Heather, You are correct, the BlackJack is not currently supported by EQO. However, if you have the IBM JVM on your phone, you should be able to download a JAVA version of EQO to your phone and get that to run reasonably well. Have you tried selecting another Samsung model when you go to http://get.eqo.com? Peter re: EQO on the BlackJackSubmitted by hadrury on July 19, 2007 - 2:48pm.
Hi Peter, Yes, i have tried several of the Samsung downloads (A701, E900, D520, etc.). I get the same error message each time on my blackjack: "Error: This file cannot be viewed on the device". Can you provide a bit more specifics on where I can find a java version of EQO for the Blackjack? Thank you! re: EQO on the BlackJackSubmitted by peter on July 19, 2007 - 3:09pm.
Hi, I would try to download the application to your computer and then transfer the file over to your BlackJack from there. To get the download to your computer, log on to www.eqo.com and select the "download" button. this will send an SMS to your phone and take you to the "Sent SMS" page on your computer. This page has a link to download the file to your desktop. Try to install that way and see if that helps. Let me know how it goes. If that fails, you might as well send me an email (peter@eqo.com) requesting to be added to our exclusive Windows Mobile Beta test. Cheers, Peter |
