How to change your Internet Connection Settings (Motorola)

Sometimes mobile phone carriers automatically set up your phone's access point to the Internet, and sometimes you have to do this manually. This is not a fun thing to do without instructions. Here are my instructions for the Motorola V3x RAZR (these steps can be adapted to other Motorola phones):

How to change your Internet Connection Settings (Motorola):

1)From the Menu screen select Web Access.
2)Select Web Sessions.
3)Select New Entry.
4)Now you will be able to enter the name of your carrier and the rest of the important details*:

1. Name: Mobile Internet
2. Homepage:
3. Gateway IP 1:
4. GPRS APN:
5. User ID:
6. Password:

5) After you have created a new connection, select Menu, and then select Web Access, then select Web Sessions, and then select Mobile Internet, and then select Menu, and then select Set default.

If you get stuck and require more help, send me an e-mail at peter@eqo.com.

(*If you don't know any of these details, don't worry, because no one does...except Ross Barkman...check out his fantastic Web page for carrier connection details worldwide: http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html)

re: connection error

Hi Nyore,

Could you go inside your Web Sessions and check to see what internet settings you are using for Globalcom (username, password, APN)? You need to make sure that you aren't using the WAP settings.

Cheers,
