EQO with SIP?
Submitted by comm_archive on March 14, 2006 - 7:10pm.
I read that EQO uses "a proprietary signaling network based on SIP standards". I use SIP rather than Skype VoIP telephony. Could EQO be used to make and receive SIP calls? Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/143

As of right now, EQO only works with Skype to carry VoIP calls to your mobile phone. In terms of SIP support down the road, only time will tell what the future holds for EQO. EDIT: EQO for Skype is just a first step. I should say that our core application servers do have native SIP support built in for call signaling and that EQO does plan to support open SIP based communities in the future. If you are looking to buy a SIP phone and use it with EQO, then you are likely to be disappointed. We are not going to enable a SIP service, but instead focus on bringing other communities, whether SIP based or not (ie Google Jingle), to your mobile with EQO. Chris |
