EQO currently supports the following countries for EQO Calling Features, they are: Afghanistan We are working on adding calling support for more countries all the time. If your county is not supported for EQO Calling and you'd like to let us know, please do so here: We'll send you an email when your country is supported for EQO Calling. ...any plans to include Peru from Southamerica ? re: Please say the true...Submitted by peter on May 29, 2007 - 2:21pm.
I like your enthusiasm! Thanks for the kind words. We indeed have plans to cover Peru. I can't give you an exact date (because of all of the factors involved), but I am guessing that we should have Peru supported by early Autumn. You can add your email here, http://www.eqo.com/subprov/not_supported.php?page=country, to be notified when we do support Peru. I like your idea for allowing unsupported country users to ability to use non-calling features--this is something we are considering. Peter Russia supportSubmitted by nevgeniev on June 11, 2007 - 5:11am.
Hi, it would be nice to see Russia in the supported countries list before july 31th. Any guesses? re: Russia supportSubmitted by christine_eqo on June 11, 2007 - 3:15pm.
We are definitely planning to add Russia to our list of Supported Countries and will let you know as soon as there's an official announcement. Thanks for your patience! Christine Problems in AustriaSubmitted by hellek on June 17, 2007 - 5:19am.
Hi, I am in Austria and the number that gets called when using EQO is +43720880001. Unfortunately I only hear "this call is not allowed" then. I don't know whether this is due to the number not being reachable or due to my phone provider. I have a SIP-account and also have a 0720-number, and for that one I get this when I am not reachable. But my provider also said that gateways would be blocked. There is a possible solution to both problems though: Furthermore this guy needs to know the SIP URL of EQO's service to be able to route the call via SIP. I'd really appreciate it if you would give me the SIP URL and would make an adapted client for Austria with the option to use this alternative number. best regards, re: Problems in AustriaSubmitted by peter on June 18, 2007 - 2:59pm.
David, While looking over the Austrian call logic, I noticed a flaw that didn't allow for EQO users with 13 digit phone numbers to make successful phone calls. This bug has now been fixed. Could you please try to make another phone call with EQO and let me know how it goes? Cheers, Peter re: thank you it works nowSubmitted by peter on June 19, 2007 - 11:41am.
No problem! Let me know if you have any other comments or questions about EQO. Cheers, Peter Eqo when travellingSubmitted by psiddiqui on June 26, 2007 - 1:22am.
I signed up for Eqo thinking I could make calls when travelling abroad. It turns out I can't. I am a registered user in Canada with a Canadian phone number on Rogers (+1.604.xxx.xxxx). However, when I am in the UK I get an error recording because it is not calling a UK access point. Eqo is still dialing a Canadian access point. I am using a Blackberry 7100. re: EQO when travellingSubmitted by christine_eqo on June 26, 2007 - 11:10am.
Hi there, Thanks for your message. To answer your question, we currently do not have roaming capabilities for EQO accounts. This means that each EQO account can only be associated with one mobile number which allows EQO users to make cost-effective international calls from their home-country. We realize how advantageous it would to have roaming capabilities with EQO which is why we're working hard to make this a possibility in the future! In the meantime, if you would like to take advantage of EQO while roaming you could purchase a new SIM card in the country to which you're traveling to and sign up for another EQO account with that phone number. This option may be valuable depending on how often you’re planning to travel, and the duration of your stays. When an online EQO user calls another online EQO user, they will not be charged any fees from EQO but will be using local airtime and a minimal amount of data. Similarly, two online EQO users can send text messages for free to each other Please note: EQO text messaging and IM (instant messaging) may be useful to you if you have a cost-effective data plan or a phone with wifi since these services only use data. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else. Cheers, Christine BulgariaSubmitted by suey on June 28, 2007 - 7:01am.
A while ago I used the "Request Country Support" page to put my request in for EQO support in Bulgaria. I have been spreading the word amongst my friends and colleagues about this great service and a friend of mine has today told me that they, also, tried to add their request for Bulgaria to be added but it was not on the list. I had a look and, sure enough, Bulgaria is no longer there. Does this mean (fingers crossed) that BG is soon to be supported or that it has been excluded? Or is it some other reason altogether? Looking forward hopefully to a positive response :) Bulgaria rejoice!Submitted by peter on June 28, 2007 - 8:18am.
Thanks for the forum post. Bulgaria is now supported! As are a few other European countries (read my blog for full details: ountries...) Be sure to check that your phone is also on our supported lists too. We will be sending out that email to let those people who added their name to the notification list today! Cheers, Peter This is the best news I haveSubmitted by suey on June 29, 2007 - 1:30am.
This is the best news I have had all week! Thanks so much you lovely EQO people :) Taiwan availabilitySubmitted by yukioanime on June 29, 2007 - 8:57pm.
When will Taiwan be available... and if it is gonna be available.. I'd consider making a change to the name in the directory or you will lose a possible 23 mil customer. Taiwan is NOT a Province of China!!!! re: Taiwan availabilitySubmitted by peter on July 2, 2007 - 8:35pm.
Hopefully I can avert an international incident with my explanation: Sorry for the confusion, but Taiwan is actually a province of China...the Republic of China (ROC)--not to be confused with the People's Republic of China(PRC). Oh yeah, and we expect to have support for Taiwan in the next few months. Peter Australia EQO TestingSubmitted by saradnld on August 16, 2007 - 2:23am.
Hello I live in Australia and have downloaded your java application to my Motorola mobile to test it but had to sign up with a different Country code instead of 61. Can you please tell me when you are going to add Australia as although the app runs fine and I can IM, I cannot call out or receive calls. Also are the calls delivered via the wap service over tcp or udp as with true voip that uses the internet to deliver the call to the closest pstn exchange and receives calls from any pstn exchange and delivers them over the Internet or are they delivered by international voice pstn to mobile wireless where some people may have to pay their provider a fee for roaming? Sara Donald Hi Sara,Submitted by peter on August 16, 2007 - 9:38am.
Hi Sara, You have good timing...I am looking for testers in Australia right now! Send me an email at support@eqo and I'll get you set up to Beta test our application for calling in Australia. When you make a call with EQO, the application halts the internet connection, your phone dials a normal phone call to our local access number (a local Australian phone number), we then carry your call signal over our VoIP network to its international destination. In this way, you will be charged for a local call (by your carrier) and we will deliver you an international call. Cheers, Peter Beta TestSubmitted by saradnld on August 16, 2007 - 8:18pm.
Thanks Peter, have sent you an email. Sara. re: beta testSubmitted by peter on August 17, 2007 - 10:53am.
