EQO closing on standby

i recently just got an n95 8gb and i've enjoyed using this application versus other im programs out there, but eqo closes each time i switch apps such as checking texts messages or viewing content online even if my phone were to go on standby mode.

i was wondering if it were possible to keep the application connected even if i switched to another app? i saw a blog post about standby mode, i couldn't find any answer i could find to this problem.
