disconnection when programs runs in background.

Hi all..

First, thanks for the gr8 program. Finally I found a program which runs on HTTP protocol, since I'm using a limited WAP connection, and all other IM programs don't work. In fact, when I chose the TCP option in the settings, I can't connect anymore.

ANYWAY, I wanted to ask regarding a problem I'm facing using EQO on my HTC Trinity/P3600 WM6.1 device.

I can connect to all services successfully, but when I try to keep the program running in the background and get alerts for messages etc, the program immediately disconnects. This obviously limits the use of EQO dramatically.

Any idea on how to fix this? Is it a limitation of not using the TCP connection?

Kamal,

I have just tested EQO in HTTP mode on my phone and when I minimize the application, EQO remains online. When you say immediate, do you really mean immediate? Or do you mean that it goes offline after a couple minutes (which still could make it useless for you)?

I also noticed that you are using version 1.2 of our Windows Mobile application. I suggested that you uninstall this and go to http://get.eqo.com to get version 1.4 now--or wait a day or two and we should have 1.5 out. I tested 1.4 in my test.

When I mean immediately, I mean the moment I exit the program, the today plugin after 1-2 seconds turns to offline.I followed your suggestion and tried version 1.4 - the same result.

The interesting thing I found is that ths happens only using my WAP connection - a WAP limited to ports 80 and 8080 connection, which needs a proxy connection.
When I tried it on a local WiFi connection - it worked fine even running in background.

Do you have any other ideas how to keep it online while in background? when using the WAP connection?
