Calling with EQO
Submitted by chris on May 22, 2007 - 8:27pm.
All EQO calls are placed from the EQO Mobile application on your phone. EQO Mobile makes calls by placing a regular call on your mobile phone to an EQO local access number. If you are making a free call to an online EQO user, then you both call into a local EQO access number and meet in the middle, so to speak. When making a call to an offline EQO user or a non EQO contact you will call into the local access number and the party you are calling will receive a normal call. These types of calls are subject to EQO Out rates, which require EQO Credits: Check current EQO Out rates here. Please let us know if you have any other questions pertaining to using EQO, just post in this forum! Chris Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com/trackback/853
Person can not pick up my call to them.Submitted by jasoneyre on May 23, 2007 - 6:11am.
When I make a call to another Eqo user, they can not answer my call and Just hear it ringing the whole time. The same happens when I am called by them, When I try to answer the call, it asls me if I want to call them and does not answer the call when I accept it. We are in Sweden using the Hi3G network. RE: Person can not pick up my call to them.Submitted by chris on May 23, 2007 - 1:39pm.
It's possible that we are having a problem with our EQO access lines in Sweden and we are looking into that. I'm not certain that is the case and I'd like to make sure you guys are using EQO Mobile correctly. When you make an EQO to EQO call you must place the call and then dial a local number on your phone. The person answering the call must accept and also dial into the EQO access number. Are you both doing this and hearing just ringing? Chris Calling with EQO MobileSubmitted by nathang on June 9, 2007 - 11:14pm.
If i call another EQO online user, do i pay any fees(to my cellular company) or it is completly free?? re: Calling with EQO MobileSubmitted by peter on June 10, 2007 - 4:18pm.
When you make an EQO to EQO call, you will be charged for a local phone call by your cellular company. When you use EQO Mobile, you will also be using internet data. Some cell phone companies provide calling plans that include local calls. And, if you have a WiFi connection, you could use the internet for free... Peter Bill for EQO user that answeredSubmitted by sicenni on July 5, 2007 - 3:30pm.
In a EQO user to EQO user call both will pay the local phone rate? or only who start the call will pay the bill? Best Regards Sigi Hi Sigi,Submitted by christine_eqo on July 5, 2007 - 3:54pm.
Hi Sigi, To answer your question, EQO is a combination of a traditional phone call and a VoIP call. What this means is that when you make a phone call with EQO, the application dials a local access number which then passes your call over the internet to the international number that you’re calling. So when an online EQO user calls another online EQO user, both users will be using local minutes and data to make the call but will not be charged any additional fees from EQO. I hope this helps to answer your question. Kind regards, Christine Thank's for your helpSubmitted by sicenni on July 6, 2007 - 9:01am.
Thank's for your answer, now I understand it. Sigi RE: Thank's for your helpSubmitted by chris on July 6, 2007 - 9:19am.

hi im trying to call out with the EQO but all the time it says that it is a nummer that is not in use... what are im doing that is wrong Busy when calling with EQOSubmitted by singelmann on July 16, 2007 - 5:45am.
I am using EQO with a Blackberyy 8700 and T-Mobile (Germany). The software connects with EQO and also IM works. But when calling a fixe or mobile line (in Germany) the phone calls a German gateway (+4969...) which is always busy. re: Busy when calling with EQOSubmitted by peter on July 16, 2007 - 12:35pm.
Hi, I am looking into this issue right now. I believe that it may have to do with how we are currently handling your telephone number. We may need to adapt our logic concerning 11 digit German phone numbers. After I have verified that this is the case, I will get you to try the application again. I'm here at the philippines. Is it possible to use EQ0 to call another EQO user within the Philippines like VoIP? Becasue the thing that confuses me is, why is there a need to be in a supported country yet the EQO should be connecting via the internet using 3G/Wifi to make these calls possible right? re: Calling EQO usersSubmitted by peter on September 10, 2007 - 5:02pm.
EQO is not a pure VoIP service. When you use EQO to make a call, the application uses an internet connection to initiate a phone call to our local access number nearest to your phone's local dialing area. THEN, your call gets carried over the internet to your call's international destination. In this way, you use a small amount of data + a local call and you receive a long distance call. We are planning on supporting our calling feature in the Philippines in the future! Cheers, Peter Problems EQO to EQO callsSubmitted by pelos on September 23, 2007 - 4:46am.

Hi, I cannot be able to buy new credit. Have someone some suggestion for me? re: buy new creditSubmitted by peter on October 2, 2007 - 8:48am.
Hi, Is your PayPal account Verified? If not, sign in to your PayPal account page and select the link that says Verify My Account. If you do have a verified account already, what does the error message say when you try to buy credits? Peter EQO to EQO in IsraelSubmitted by peter on October 2, 2007 - 3:26pm.
Hi Eddie, Have you tried any EQO to EQO calls today? Also, can you view your EQO contact's details and verify that they are stored correctly within the application. Peter EQO OutSubmitted by apmu on October 2, 2007 - 9:01pm.
There is no country support for UAE. So when I call out using contacts appearing in EQO by default it uses my GSM (I am using Balckberry Pearl 4.2). I have Unlimited global roaming. So If I use the EQO call out while in US or Canada will it support? As those countries are in the supported list? Due to this reason I have not topped up my credit till now. Pl let me know re: EQO OutSubmitted by peter on October 3, 2007 - 3:17pm.
The international roaming scenario that you describe will not work because of the way EQO is set up. When you make a call with EQO, the application dials a number that is local to the phone's number not a number that is local to where you are at the time. The only possible way for you to use EQO for calling in a supported calling country would be for you to have a SIM card and another EQO account/client from that country. You can still use EQO for text and IM messaging while you are abroad with your current configuration. Peter Calling with EQOSubmitted by paronic on November 1, 2007 - 4:01am.
When i use EQO to call, it automatically switches to my normal phone call rate and uses my local provider. I use a t mobile dash htc excalibur. How can i stop EQO from switching to my local provider to call. Uzo re: Calling with EQOSubmitted by peter on November 1, 2007 - 3:47pm.
Uzo, This is how EQO works when you make a direct dial call from EQO, your call will go out through your normal provider. When you make an EQO Out call your phone will make a local call with your provider to our local access number and then we will carry your call over our network to its international destination. Peter wich number?Submitted by geko67 on January 2, 2008 - 9:25am.
I'm from italy and i want to knew wat "local"number i call when i make a eqo out. re: wich number?Submitted by peter on January 2, 2008 - 2:15pm.
Your phone will automatically dial our Italian number (in Rome) when you make an EQO Out call. This is the same cost to you as a regular call to a Roman landline. It is cheaper for you to use EQO Out when you are dialing a long distance number. We will carry your call over the internet after you connect to our local number in Rome.
