Chris Please give Vibrator a trySubmitted by chris on February 20, 2008 - 3:44pm.I am pleased to announce that EQO has recently released its first Facebook application. It probably isn’t what you would expect, but it’s a fun application that will likely appeal to those who like Pokes. Our app is called Vibrator and it lets you send your friends Vibes. Vibes are like vibrating pokes with fun messages and animations. Vibes can be sent between Facebook users, but EQO users have the option of receiving Vibes on their mobile phone. For example, if I sent you a vibe your phone would vibrate and you would see that “Chris sent you an I told you so Vibe!” We have lots of fun Vibe types, but you need to earn some of them by sending enough Vibes. Please give it a try and let us know what you think! We are interested in your feedback and would love to know how you think Vibrator could be better and what vibes you might be interested in sending to your friends. And never fear, we have some other Facebook features in mind that are more communicative in nature. Also, props to Handi Mobility for developing Vibrator with us. They do great work and I highly recommend them. Please try Vibrator and, while you are it, you might as well join the EQO Facebook group! Chris Connection Error Message CodesSubmitted by peter on December 19, 2007 - 4:03pm.If you are trying to connect to EQO and you receive a connection error message, then you might be confused about why you can't connect. Hopefully this connection guide helps.
Peter The Straight Goods on EQOSubmitted by peter on November 20, 2007 - 1:59pm.Everyday I tend to see some of the same general questions about our application. This seems like as good a reason as any for me to start a thread on here to help people with some the general information stuff about EQO. Let me attempt to explain in simple terms how our service works: • We support every country in the world for Instant Messaging and International SMS messaging and calling. • When you make an EQO call, the application will call our local access number nearest to your phone's home area code (or in some countries, our local access number will call you). We will then carry your call over our VoIP network. The duration of your call will be charged as a local call by your mobile carrier. If you are calling a landline or a non-EQO user or an offline EQO user then we will also charge you EQO credits for the duration of the call at our posted rates. • If you are calling an online EQO user, then we will charge you 50% EQO credits for the call. You will still owe your carrier for a call to our local access number. • Instant Messaging is free and will not cost you text messages. Instant Messaging with EQO takes place over the Internet. • When you use EQO, you will use Internet data, which your carrier will charge you for at your agreed rate. Please let me know if I missed anything else! Peter How to change your Internet Connection Settings (Nokia Series 40)Submitted by peter on August 31, 2007 - 11:01am.Sometimes mobile phone carriers automatically set up your phone's access point to the Internet, and sometimes you have to do this manually. This is not a fun thing to do without instructions. Here are my instructions for the Nokia 6230i (these steps can be easily adapted to most Nokia S40 edition phones): How to change your Internet Connection Settings (Nokia): 1)From the Menu screen select Settings. 2)Select Configuration. 3)Select Personal Configuration Settings. 4)Select Options. 5)Select Add new (Access Point). 6)Now you will be able to enter the name of your carrier. 7) Then select Access Point Settings. 8)Ensure that the Data Bearer is set to GPRS. 9)Then Select Bearer Settings. 10)And the rest of the important details*: 11)Access Point: 12)Username: 13)Password: 14) make sure that you set this access point to be your Preferred Access point. You are now all set to access the Internet with the access point EQO. When you launch EQO, make sure that you select the access point EQO. If you need more help, send me an e-mail at peter@eqo.com. (*If you don't know any of these details, don't worry, because no one does...check out the list that we have compiled on our website: http://www.eqo.com/apn.php) Peter Would you like to test your unsupported phone with EQO?Submitted by peter on August 16, 2007 - 4:23pm.There are minimum requirements for EQO--your phone needs to support Java applications (J2ME, MIDP 2.0 to be more precise), your phone needs to have a max .Jar Size of at least 220 KB, and you need to have full access to mobile data--but if you have a phone that is not on our supported list, and you think it should be, please let me know at support@eqo.com and I get you set up with a suitable file to test out on your phone. If you've tested out EQO on an unsupported phone before, please share your experiences here!
