Loonie Trumps Greenback for first time in 31 Years, ha, ha

In Canada, a beer costs $2.  What is that, like a billion dollars American?  I can't count how many times I've heard things like that the other way around.  It delights me that the Canadian dollar has achieved parity with the American dollar this week; for the first time in 31 years mind you, which spans my entire lifetime.  What does it all mean you ask?  It means the border lineups of Canadians going to the USA to pilfer consumer goods, often costing 30% less, will go way up.  It means that the Canadian tourism industry will suffer because less Americans will be coming up here.  It means that the "Brain Drain" is definitely over.  Most importantly, it means I will be making fun of every American I come across the same way they've made fun of me my entire life.  Here's hoping the days of $0.62 are permanently behind us!

I'm sure that will change

when the current occupant of the White House is shown the door. Enjoy the increased spending power while you can. ;)

RE: I'm sure that will change

Maybe, I guess only time will tell. What with the front runners for the Democratic nomination not so appealing in the South, who's to say that the next President won't be another war mongering Republican?

nice one chris

had a laugh reading your post, and just wanted to say howdy. I'm back after a year to check out the new EQO, but no Palm support anymore! Ah well, i'm a small market with my 755p. I'll check back in several months and keep my fingers crossed.

If we do get another 4 yrs of the WMR (war mongering republican), we'll be coming up there as migrant workers soon.

Hope all is well for you up in Canada-land. Keep up the good work!

RE: nice one chris

Cheers mate, glad you liked the post. There is plenty of room up here in Canada for you. You'll be pleasantly surprised with how much more exciting hockey is than baseball and how much the beer here doesn't taste like water! A native Palm OS version of EQO is still a bit further down the priority list, but its still something we are thinking about and it would be pretty cool, eh? Please keep checking back with us.

Thanks for the kind words,
