EQO Soccer

Last week I was talking to the Right Honorable Bill Tam, CEO, about how I’m slowly and steadily getting fatter due to excessive sitting on my ass and proposed that we start an EQO exercise program. I was just kidding around, but he took me more seriously than I expected and likely deserved. Much to my delight, he allowed me to organize an EQO soccer game for the afternoon of Friday, September 15th.

I let the staff know, told them to bring shin pads (we have some ankle biters), and informed everyone that they would not be allowed to stay in the office and work. Those who didn’t want to play had to come cheer on their favorite player, which I incorrectly assumed would be me, lame. All I wanted was one sign that said “Go Chris!”, is that so wrong?

Anyway, we did play last Friday and it was an epic match. Unfortunately no one took my “prizes for fouling management” proclamation seriously, but we still managed to have fun. Well most of us had fun, Craig Hughes, Director of Operations, cracked his ribs in a fair challenge with Slav. He’ll be fine. My team lost 5-3, which was due in most part to stellar goal keeping by the other team and me choosing to shoot instead of pass at every opportunity. Needless to say my weekend was ruined, but I’m already training for next time and I’ll have my revenge.
