EQO and Firewalls

If you are having some trouble signing into the EQO for Skype Plug-in on your computer, Mac or PC, it is quite likely that you are being blocked by a firewall, especially if you are at work and it’s a big company. EQO needs free reign to connect to the internet and uses standard ports 80 and 443, as well as non standard ports 88, 7575, and 7576. You may need to unblock these nonstandard ports if EQO is being restricted. Many people have requested that we enable EQO to use proxies like Skype does. This is a good idea and is something we hope to do in the future. Please be patient and, in the meantime, open up those ports if you can.

*Note: EQO traverses most firewalls. It's only firewalls that specifically block EQO that cause trouble, usually firewalls that block ports and that have rather strict policies.
